Cryogenic Vapour Locomotive. Patent à Simulacrum Р|
|
|
This conceptual art project flows directly from my earlier technical research as to what will the Carbon Neutral ~ Post-Carbon Options for Australia Railway Locomotives. There in it quickly became apparent that for the increasingly arid future Australia faces the current international research trajectories (hydrogen economy, battery technology et al) WILL NOT be of any use addressing the land transport crisis that will cripple sparse arid countries such as this great southern land. Those
many pages of the previous dry technical research are on line as a

With time-lines and business-cases for the most part beyond common short-term consideration another strategy to safely disseminate this work was required. Trained as a sculptor / conceptual artist the obvious answer for me then was a conceptual art-work as a series of fine-art print-works document the concepts. |
Individual
pieces, or sets from these limited computer printed hand-tweaked
editions (signed, number & dated) are exclusively available
now from the prestigious 479

Ã: Aesthetic Context: A "Conceptual Art Work" typical takes the form of a written set of; instructions~directions for the fabrication of an instillation, or the instructions~directions for a performance art-work. The conceptual art-work only being fully comprehend in the process of following thence execution of those instruction~direction. The process and any resulting artefacts being primarily of aesthetic interest, as they are works of art. However in the case of the "Cryogenic Vapour Locomotive" the traditional understanding aliened with a conceptual art work, are provocatively ambiguous in that the resulting artefact is not exclusively a work of art but also a functional railway locomotive, a fine example of such a thing that in many legal jurisdiction is viewed as works of industrial design protect-able only with-in the limited monopoly offered by the patent realm, and beyond any protection under the copyright conventions. |

Below are low-resolution (72 dpi) jpegs. The actual art-works are computer-graphic high resolution (600 dpi) A4 prints are on archival paper. The main image in each case being of the print source. The smaller images surrounding are sample details of from the individual tweaked [ δ = deltas ]. |

Ð: Simulacrum is a common concept in post-modern art critique, the idea of something as an image representing that thing, verily a conceptual doppelgänger. |
